A bootlegger monk for a whiskey -by Ken Jacobsen

Proposed label for a whiskey named after a bootlegger ironsmith monk,
nicely designed by Chris Gorney of Minneapolis.
The monk was a real character, and the idea was to capture his impish,
friendly personality in the illustration.
Brother Justus himself...

Detail of the sketch.
The client, as often happens, changed their minds and went in a completely different direction
– a cranky superhero look, by another illustrator.
